About Method Roofing Group

Founder-led Southern California roofing — manufacturer-trained, contractor-tested, documented work on every project.

We Are Method

Method (n.) — from the Greek methodos: a way of pursuing. A path chosen on purpose.

We didn’t name a roofing company. We named a discipline. In an industry built on the quick fix and the hard sell, we chose the harder thing — a system, a standard, and a documented reason behind every decision on every roof we touch. That word comes first in our name on purpose. This is Method Roofing Group: the way forward, done right.

Who We Are

Method Roofing Group is a Newport Beach-based roofing contractor providing documented commercial and residential roofing services across Southern California. Founder Jeff Moreno brings decades of senior manufacturer leadership and executive-level contractor operations experience — notably, his background spans the industry’s largest commercial roofing names. Today, Method specializes in roof inspection, repair, restoration, and replacement for commercial property owners, multi-property portfolios, HOA communities, asset managers, and residential homeowners — delivering founder-level oversight, manufacturer-aligned material specification, and code-aware documentation on every engagement. Across the region, the firm serves property owners in six counties: Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and San Diego.

Across that service area, Method handles the major commercial roof systems used in Southern California — TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, built-up roofing (BUR), metal, and spray polyurethane foam (SPF) — alongside the residential systems that define the region’s architectural diversity — asphalt shingles, concrete tile, clay tile, and standing seam metal. Additionally, specialty restoration coating systems including silicone, acrylic, and SPF round out a service mix that covers nearly every roofing scenario across the six-county service area.

Meet the Founder, Jeff Moreno

Founder, Method Roofing Group

Jeff has spent his career on every side of the roofing business — specifying systems for national manufacturers, running contractor operations as a principal and COO, and executing in the field. That experience spans the full range of commercial, residential, and industrial systems — TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, BUR, metal, SPF, tile, and shingle — along with California Title 24 cool roof and Chapter 7A fire-rated requirements. There isn’t a roof type, material, or code condition in this market he hasn’t worked through.

Manufacturer Industry Background

Jeff spent the first phase of his career on the manufacturer side of the industry — working for several of the largest, most recognized roofing material producers in the country — where he learned how roof systems are specified, how warranties are structured, and exactly where contractors void coverage by choosing incompatible products.

Executive Contractor Operations

He then moved to the contractor side as Principal and COO of a Southern California residential, commercial, and industrial roofing company — running it end-to-end across office leadership, field crews, logistics, project management, and sales. That’s where manufacturer knowledge met daily field execution.

Why Method Roofing Group Was Founded

Jeff founded Method to fix a gap he saw from both vantage points: roofing too often runs on handshake-level documentation, sales-driven contractor models, and a disconnect between the team that sells the job and the team that installs it.

The owner pays for it later: undocumented work, incompatible materials that void warranties, and insurance claims that fail. Why? Nobody captured the paperwork. Jeff built Method to operate the opposite way — manufacturer-level specification, contractor-grade operations, and accountability that traces back to one person.

How Method Protects Your Investment

Roofing decisions involve significant capital, warranty considerations, and operational impact. Method’s approach is built around three principles that protect property owners throughout every project — and Jeff’s manufacturer and contractor experience informs each one.

Documented Process on Every Project

Every Method project — inspection, repair, restoration, or replacement — is photographed, documented, and reported in writing throughout. Property owners receive complete records appropriate for warranty maintenance, insurance claims, capital planning, and pre-purchase due diligence. Documentation is built into the Method process from day one, not added as an afterthought once the work is complete.

That approach is formalized in Method Proof, our roof maintenance program for homes, buildings, and portfolios across Southern California.

Manufacturer-Certified, Licensed Crews

Method maintains current manufacturer certification across every major roofing system, and CSLB License #1157257 stays active and verifiable.

. Every project is overseen by a licensed Method team member — never subcontracted to disconnected crews. Jeff’s years inside the roofing manufacturer industry directly inform product selection and warranty protocol.

Founder-Led, Field-Tested Expertise

Jeff provides direct oversight on every project — accountability that disappears in larger, sales-driven operations. His combined manufacturer and contractor background means specifications, warranty registrations, and field execution all run through one experienced lens, not a fragmented sales-and-install handoff.

Every project is specified against the relevant code before scope is finalized.

“I’ve worked with Jeff for five years across multiple commercial projects for our college campuses — repairs, restorations, and full re-roofs. What sets him apart is that he treats every roof like an asset he’s accountable for, not a job to close. The work is documented, the specifications hold up, and the communication is straight. When you’re managing facilities across California, that consistency is exactly what you need.”

Ask Jeff: Common Questions About Method Roofing Group

What makes Method different from other Southern California roofing contractors?

Three things separate Method. First, every project is photographed and documented from start to finish — most contractors don’t do this consistently, which creates problems with warranty claims and insurance documentation later. Second, every project uses manufacturer-compatible materials specified to preserve existing warranty coverage. My years inside Johns Manville, Boral Roofing, and Henry Company taught me exactly how warranty registrations work and where contractors typically void coverage by choosing incompatible products. Third, every project is overseen by a licensed Method team member with direct founder accountability — not subcontracted to disconnected execution crews.

Does Method work on residential, commercial, and industrial properties?

Yes. Method serves single-family homes, multifamily properties, HOA-managed communities, office and retail buildings, industrial facilities, warehouses, and multi-property portfolios across Southern California. The same documented methodology, manufacturer-aligned specification, and founder oversight applies across every project type, regardless of property size or system complexity.

What does your manufacturer background mean for my project?

It means Method’s product specifications are informed by inside knowledge of how Johns Manville, Boral Roofing, Henry Company, and other major manufacturers actually structure their warranties, application requirements, and authorized installer programs. When I specify a coating system, a tile material, or a single-ply membrane for your project, the recommendation reflects manufacturer-level technical understanding — not contractor-level surface knowledge. This matters most on warranty registration, material compatibility, and long-term performance.

Do you personally oversee every Method project?

Yes. Method is built around direct founder oversight. For commercial roof restoration and major projects, I’m involved from initial inspection through warranty registration. For residential repairs, I review the scope and approve materials before crews mobilize. This is a deliberate choice — Method is a founder-led operation, not a sales-driven model with disconnected execution.

How do I verify Method before hiring?

Three steps. First, verify CSLB License #1157257 at California’s Contractors State License Board portal — confirm it’s active and in good standing. Second, request written scope before work begins, including manufacturer compatibility verification for the proposed materials. Third, confirm documentation practices — photos, written reports, insurance claim coordination if relevant. Method provides all three on every project, and you can connect with me directly on LinkedIn if you have additional questions before engaging.
